I love seeing how our gifts have become part of holiday traditions over the years. With Cheryl’s Cookies celebrating its 45th anniversary, I wanted to share two Halloween stories: One involves parents who couldn't resist joining the trick-or-treaters; the other reveals how a missing basket of cookies led to an unexpected act of kindness and a valuable lesson.

Let’s Bring Home an Anthem Award!

I’m thrilled that the Celebrate Your Story podcast episode with former NBA star Jayson Williams has been named a finalist in the 6th Annual Anthem Awards! Now, with public voting open through Oct. 29, I’d love your help bringing home the Community Voice Award.

Why do groups have such a powerful hold on us? NYU psychologist Jay Van Bavel has spent his career exploring that question. In this week’s Power & Impact, we discuss the forces behind political polarization and the loneliness epidemic, as well as how our connections with others can bring out the best — and worst — in us. Watch to discover why we become divided and how we can bridge those differences.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In last week’s episode of Celebrate Your Story, I sat down with Jackie Quan, who spent 25 years in oncology drug development before turning her scientific curiosity toward the study of happiness. Her research reveals why the most successful teams often share a culture of mutual support. We also explore whether happiness can be measured. Explore what makes us thrive.

How has Halloween changed for you? Last week, I invited readers to share their favorite Halloween memories, and I’d love to hear more of your stories. Think back to the costumes you wore and the neighborhood traditions that made the holiday special. How do those memories compare with the way you celebrate today? Whether your story is funny, spooky, or heartwarming, I hope you’ll share it for a chance to be featured in an upcoming Celebrations Pulse.

What’s Ahead for the Economy? I recently hosted an economic outlook discussion for Worth Media featuring Bob Diamond, CEO of Atlas Merchant Capital, and Larry Kantor, the firm’s chief economist. We explored the investment boom in artificial intelligence and the risks facing investors. Despite concerns about a potential market correction, both see underlying strength in the economy. Read the highlights and watch our conversation on Worth.
