| | | | | | | We're fortunate to live in Southern Oregon and witness the Rogue Valley in the splendor of a full spring bloom. The annual Pear Blossom Festival and Parade celebrates this magical time of year—and this year, Harry & David served as honorary grand marshal of the parade as part of our 90th anniversary celebration.
It's not just the blooms that fill our pear orchards. This time of year they are abuzz with activity—and I mean that literally. Local bees have been brought in to help pollinate those blooms on our trees, and nature will be hard at work over the coming weeks and months to turn the blooms into buds, and buds into the Royal Riviera® Pears you know and love.
While we wait, let's talk about May's featured fruit: strawberries. We turn to expert growers to help us procure this springtime favorite, seeking fruit that's ripened in the field, picked and packed by hand, and delivered at the peak of beauty and flavor. Many of the berries we see are extraordinarily large, perfectly shaped, and glossy red, which makes them not only a joy to eat, but impressive as a gift, too. There's no end to the ways you can enjoy them—personally, I love to put mine in Saturday morning pancakes. Yum.
