| | |  | | | | I'm thrilled to announce that we've officially kicked off this year's Royal Riviera® Pear harvest, and our orchards are bustling with activity. While we're still a few weeks away from sharing our bounty, I can't wait for you and your loved ones to get a taste of this year's crop.
Until that time, I want to turn your attention to a late‑summer fruit that's at its peak of deliciousness right now: the plum. We work with expert growers to bring you a number of different types of plums, including the recognizable Black Kat plums that you'd find in our Fruit‑of‑the‑Month Club® gifts. These dark purple plums come from California and have high sugar levels that make them exceptional in desserts like cakes or puddings.
Of course, you can enjoy your plums in a number of ways, including eating them whole or cooking them down into sauce. I'm a particular fan of a sweet‑tart plum jam. You could enjoy yours over toast the traditional way or try a little secret of mine, pairing with pork or grilled cheese for a little hint of sweetness.
