| | |  | | | After a few months of summer fun, we're ready to turn our attention to another exciting season: peach season, to be exact! As of late July, we've started harvesting our ever‑beloved Oregold® Peaches and we can't wait to share this year's crop with you.
We grow five different varieties of peaches that ripen in stages, so our teams are plenty busy picking through each of our three orchards in the Rogue Valley to select them at their peak. There are more than 65 acres of trees to tend to, which can translate to about 400 tons of peaches once the harvest is complete. We only ever handpick our Oregold® Peaches to maintain their perfection, and we wait as long as possible to do so. Leaving them on the tree for longer allows them to attain a higher level of brix—a measure of sugar—which makes our peaches extra sweet and delicious.
You might be wondering about another upcoming harvest of ours. Rest assured, once we've wrapped up with all our peaches, it'll be time to turn our attention to our legendary Royal Riviera® Pears. There's never a dull moment around here—which is just how we like it!
